And unlike the Frankfurt Book Fair, which is aimed at achieving maximum commercial effect, the Leipzig Book Fair is distinguished by its desire to provide opportunities for communication between authors and readers. Bologna Children's Book Fair (Fiera del Libro per Ragazzi)- presenter international exhibition for professionals in the field of children's book publishing, which has been held annually since 1963 in early April in Bologna (Italy). This year (2016) Russia was the guest of honor at the fair in connection with the program of the Cross Year of Literature and Language of Great Britain and Russia. Moscow International Book Fair (MIBF) is the oldest and largest international book forum in Russia, held annually in the fall on the territory of VDNKh. The fair first opened in 1977 under the slogan (which later became the motto): “Books in the service of peace and progress.”
The 29th Moscow International Book Fair began its work recently and will last for four days. A classic of modern children's literature, writer Mikhail Yasnov will take part in a creative meeting and presentation of Leonid Kaminsky's book “A Lesson in Laughter”. With the participation of the finalists of the competition for young readers “Living Classics” and actress Lyubov Tolkalina, a celebration will be held dedicated to the anniversary of our favorite classic writers - the 105th anniversary of Sergei Mikhalkov and the 100th anniversary of Boris Zakhoder.

Readers will also get acquainted with other literary novelties: the novel “The Lord” by the popular science fiction writer Sergei Lukyanenko, the first book in the trilogy “Napoleonic Convoy” - “The Rowan Wedge” by Dina Rubina, the debut works of the winners of the Lyceum Prize for young authors.
Unexpected book projects will be presented by Russian sports stars. About the collection “Folk Game. Russian writers about football” will be told by sports commentator Vasily Utkin, playwright Dmitry Danilov, writers Andrei Rubanov and Evgeniy Vodolazkin.
