The introductory inscription corresponds to verse 1. Before us is a holiday song written by Asaph (possibly a contemporary of King David) in memory of the Lord's great deliverance of the Jews from Egypt. Some believe that it was intended to be performed at the Feast of Tabernacles (Lev. 23:33-36,3943). But judging by the Russian text of verse 6, and especially by the phrase “He established this as a testimony,” we have before us an Easter hymn. Asaph calls on the people to go to the holiday established by God Himself.
A. Sing joyfully...shout to God (80:2-6)
Ps. 80:2-3. We are talking about the musical accompaniment of a festive worship service.
Ps. 80:4-6. It is worth reminding that participation at a certain time in the holiday is a law for Israel, established by God Himself. Indeed, the Law of Moses obliged all adult men to undertake pilgrimages to Jerusalem three times a year - to celebrate the Passover (and, by association, the Feast of Unleavened Bread), the Feast of Weeks and the Feast of Tabernacles (Deut. 16:16).
The phrase “Trumpet the new moon” in verse 4 is explained by the fact that Passover took place in the month of Nisan, the first day of which corresponded to the beginning of the church year, and on this occasion, as at the beginning of the civil year in the month of Tishri, trumpets were supposed to be blown. In verse 6, the idea that the exodus of the Jews (Joseph) from Egypt was accompanied by the sounds of a language (according to other translations - “sounds of voice”), which they did not know, i.e., according to the explanation of some theologians, the words of God’s instructions (first heard by the Jews in Egypt) regarding Easter.
B. About God's revelation to the Jews (80:7-17)
The psalmist speaks for Jehovah.
Ps. 80:7-8. In verse 7 there is a figurative reminder of the liberation of Jews from slave labor. in verse 8 there is a mention of their trial at the waters of Meribah (Ex. 17:7; Num. 20:13; compare Ps. 94:8; 106:32).
Ps. 80:9-11. Here is a very brief reminder of how God “revealed Himself” to Israel and made it an indispensable condition for them to obey Him and worship only Him, Jehovah. In this case, the people would not know the need for anything (end Verse 11).
Ps. 80:12-13. “The fat of the wheat” in verse 17 means the choice wheat, the best part of it. "Rock honey" is honey from bees that nest in rock crevices.

This psalm is replete with curses, mainly directed at one of David's sworn enemies. Many people offer prayers for the death of their enemies. But not all of these prayers reach God. In addition, often evil thoughts directed against someone turn against the person praying. This means that in heaven those prayers that should be heard are heard. This psalm is similar to the cabalistic ritual of Pulse de Nura.
